HAGUE AND NON-HAGUE DESTINATIONS
Document Authentication and Legalization Services
International-use requirements depend on the document origin, destination country and receiving authority. The Texas Universal Apostille term may apply to eligible Texas records, while federal and out-of-state documents require separate case-specific review.
Hague Convention Destination
Eligible documents may qualify for an apostille certificate, but the document version and receiving-authority instructions still matter.
Non-Hague Destination
Authentication or legalization requirements can vary significantly. We review the document and destination before discussing service options.
Texas, Out-of-State and Federal Documents
- Texas records: reviewed for Texas certificate eligibility.
- Out-of-state records: reviewed according to the issuing-state details.
- FBI and federal records: reviewed separately under current federal-document requirements.

Apostille, Authentication or Legalization?
The correct route depends on the document’s issuing authority and the country where it will be used. Hague Convention destinations commonly use an apostille. Other destinations may require authentication and additional embassy or consular steps.
- Texas-issued and Texas-notarized documents generally begin with the appropriate Texas authority.
- Documents from another state normally follow that state’s process.
- Eligible federal documents follow the U.S. federal authentication process.
